Description
Vine ripened pan-fried tomatoes.
Ingredients
2-4 ripe Tomatoes
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
½ teaspoon White or Light Brown Sugar
Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
Slice off top and bottom of each tomato and salt & pepper both sides. Place sliced side
down on a plate lined with paper towel and set aside to allow some of the water drain
(about 15-30 minutes). Coat the bottom of a
frying pan with oil and allow to come to heat on medium. Sprinkle sugar over top of each
tomato and place in the frying pan sugar side down and brown to a golden brown (+ or - 5-10
minutes). Turn tomatoes over and
brown the other side..
Serves
2-4
Additional Information
Serve as a side dish for any meal. Fried tomatoes are wonderful sever with scrambled eggs.
